New Century Home Care sponsored a Chanukah luncheon hosted by Nachas Health and Family Network's "Women's Survivor Club".
The not-for-profit community based organization was founded in 1990 to address the gap in health and social services for Jewish and immigrant populations in Brooklyn, with special emphasis on holocaust survivors. The luncheon is a four times a year opportunity for women holocaust survivors to socialize, hear an interesting speaker, listen to music and get together for reminiscences. A three course meal was served with musical renditions by Shloime Dachs, a popular local singer. "These women have survived the worst possible," said Temi Fink, New Century's Outreach Coordinator, "and remarkably, they built new and enriched lives and families. It is a real privilege to sponsor such a lovely afternoon for these really special women.
